Although a director may decide to terminate his position at any time by delivering a letter of resignation, the resignation does need to be ratified by the Shareholders, and made formal with the CIPC. The way to record this is in a Shareholders Resolution, signed by the shareholders of the company. This document along with other documents, such as ID’s and the like, are then submitted to the CIPC in order that the resignation can be effected with the CIPC.
